Trial Transfer and Embryo Transfer

It is important for your embryo transfer to be as atraumatic as possible to maximize your chance of pregnancy. Accordingly we perform a trial transfer to measure the length of your cervix. Both the trial transfer and actual embryo transfer are done with the use of an ultrasound to verify positioning of the catheter. For both procedures you will need a full bladder to maximize ultrasound visualization.

Ultrasound Instructions

  • Drink 32 ounces of any fluid.

  • Finish drinking the entire 32 ounces one-half (½) hour before your appointment time. This one-half (½) hour gives you bladder time to fill.
DO NOT URINATE. Your bladder must be very full for the transfers.
