Through individualized patient care, the use of state-of-the-art
stimulation protocols with recombinant gonadotropins, a "cutting
edge" embryology laboratory, and blastocyst transfers, success
rates at Southeastern Fertility Center have steadily improved.
This web page is designed to give you an overview of Southeastern
Fertility Center's success rate with IVF treatment in the most
recent reporting year. Since pregnancy rates per cycle of treatment
vary tremendously from individual to individual, we recommend
consultation with a physician at Southeastern Fertility Center
to help you estimate your pregnancy rate per treatment cycle.
"Success" can have various meanings in the world of
medicine. Accordingly, when evaluating pregnancy rates it is
important to understand the rates being quoted. It is clear that
the best measure of success for any infertility treatment is
the "take home baby" or "live birth" rate
per cycle of infertility treatment. Given the time period being
quoted the "live birth" rate may not be available and
in that situation the best measure of success is the clinical
pregnancy rate defined as the percent of IVF cycles resulting
in a pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity within
the uterus at 7 weeks of pregnancy.
Entire Year 2008 IVF Success Rates
The most recent IVF pregnancy rates from Southeastern
Fertility Center can be found in the graph below. The graph displays
our patients' clinical pregnancy rate per embryo transfer for
all patients undergoing IVF treatment in the year 2008 with
normal basal FSH levels (< 9 IU/mL) who were not in a pharmaceutical
company sponsored study.
The clinical pregnancy rate is the percent
of IVF cycles resulting
in a pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity within
the uterus at 7 weeks of pregnancy (5 weeks after embryo transfer).

** Clinical pregnancy is defined as
a pregnancy with fetal cardiac activity within the uterus at

(5 weeks after egg retrieval).
*** A comparison of
clinic success rates may not be meaningful because patient
medical characteristics, treatment approaches and entrance criteria
for ART may vary
from clinic to clinic.
